Broccoli City Organic Lifestyle Group is geared to bridging relationships between companies and mainstream multi-cultured consumers. Our niche is exposing the urban community to environmentally friendly products. Generally these consumers have very little information about Going Green, and sustainability, but it is not just about “being green” it is about being “yourself”. The “BC” brand name has been molded into a huge grassroots movement because of its daily blog, community involvement, events, Eco fashion and online video series BCTV.
"Look at one or two things that you can change and change those," Viki says. "Then look at two more things you can change and change those."
Viki Radden of Radden and Associates is an innovative, global thought leader and strategist focused on the art, science and business of food. Her passion for food and the land were anchored early in life guided by her grandmother’s words, “If you take care of the land it will take care of you”.
From “putting up” peach preserves using golden ripe peaches on a back porch in South Carolina under a morning sky, to creating her own catering company, focused on NY’s elite music industry to support herself during college, and then later as an early adopter in the rooftop garden movement in Chicago, she brings her rural family roots to the urban food environment.
WHAT SHE’S DONE
As a global thought leader, educator, speaker and authority on sustainable food production, and policy issues, she has traveled extensively from Washington, DC and NY to several countries including Amsterdam, Germany, Canada, South Africa and the Caribbean where she confers with other food and agriculture authorities, academics, business and community leaders on how to develop and implement strategies on sustainable food production, and policies for climate change related agricultural issues. She also draws from her knowledge and work in the technology industry as a change agent, to apply, when appropriate, next-gen technologies to the food business.
Examples of her projects include developing high tech greenhouse vegetable production in the Caribbean, redevelopment of a major wholesale food distribution terminal into a food production, distribution and agri-entertainment facility and expanding her local area farmer’s market business and services.
Viki Radden shares knowledge that goes beyond theory that we can all use now. Whether discussing job creating food hubs, how to reduce the impacts of climate change with urban agriculture, what your food really goes through before it gets to your plate, how you can afford good nutrition for good health, or what the government needs to do to support “clean, healthy food."
This fall Viki will be launching an audio blog (podcast), FoodChatRadio on the art, science and business of food with information and conversations that can have a positive impact on your daily life.
"Circus of Life," the podcast theme song, is written/produced/performed by international artist/entrepreneur Gilli Moon.
